Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Small Business IT Manager to join our team and take responsibility for overseeing our cloud infrastructure, managing user accounts, troubleshooting user issues, and ensuring the security of our Office 365 environment.
As the IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our IT systems to support the needs of our growing organization.
Responsibilities
Cloud infrastructure management:
– Manage and maintain our cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and virtualization technologies.
– Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
– Evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
User account management:
– Create, manage, and administer user accounts and access rights across various systems and applications.
– Set up and configure user profiles, permissions, and security settings for cloud-based services.
– Collaborate with HR and department managers to onboard new employees and manage user access changes or terminations.
– Provide training and support to users regarding account setup, password management, and general system usage.
Troubleshooting and technical support:
– Investigate and resolve user-reported issues related to cloud-based services, applications, and connectivity.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems to ensure timely resolution.
– Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and in-person, guiding them through issue resolution steps.
– Document and maintain a knowledge base of common problems and solutions to facilitate efficient support.
Office 365 security:
– Implement and enforce security policies and best practices for Office 365, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
– Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, conducting investigations as needed.
– Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential risks.
– Stay updated on the latest security threats and industry trends to proactively mitigate potential security breaches.
System documentation and maintenance:
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
– Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
– Keep software and hardware inventory up-to-date, tracking licenses, warranties, and maintenance contracts.
– Conduct periodic system audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary updates.
Requirements
– Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role, preferably in a small business environment.
– Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure management, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
– Proficiency in managing user accounts and security settings in Office 365 or similar cloud-based productivity suites.
– Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
– Familiarity with IT security best practices and experience in implementing security measures.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide user support and collaborate with internal teams.
Details:
– Compensation: In the region of £50,000 depending on experience
– Early employee options, pension, flexible working
– Location – ideally have the ability to work from our UK hub nearby to Stockbridge, SO20 8DR for at least 3 days a week.
